The Academic Regulations which are detailed in Section IV, General Information and Regulations of the University Calendar apply to and regulate the programme(s) listed above.
On occasion, programmes can be exempted from one or more of the clauses in the Regulations; one or more of the clauses can be varied; and programmes can impose additional requirements.
- Exemptions are characterised by the omission of the relevant clause.
- Variations are characterised by the replacement of the clause with alternative wording.
- Additions are characterised by requirements in addition to those detailed in the Academic regulations.
The programmes listed have approval from the Academic Quality and Standards Committee for the exemptions and/or variations and/or additions to the regulations noted below.
Exemptions
The clause(s) listed below describe where an exemption to the Regulations exists.

- BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance with Study Abroad Year (4-year programme)
- BSc (Hons) Business Analytics with Study Abroad Year (4-year programme)
- BSc (Hons) Business Entrepreneurship with Study Abroad Year (4-year programme)
- BSc (Hons) Business Management with Study Abroad Year (4-year programme)
- BSc (Hons) Finance and Financial Technology with Study Abroad Year (4-year programme)
- BSc (Hons) Marketing with Study Abroad Year (4 Year Programme)
The Study Abroad Year of the programmes listed above are exempt from Section 5: Repeat of the Progression, Determination and Classification of Results for Undergraduate and Integrated Masters Programmes. Students failing their Study Abroad Year will not have the opportunity of Repeat and, subject to having met the required criteria, will be transferred and progressed to Part III of the equivalent non-study-abroad programme.

- BSc (Hons) Business Analytics with Placement Year (4-year programme)
- BSc (Hons) Business Entrepreneurship with Placement Year (4-year programme)

- BSc (Hons) Finance and Financial Technology with Placement Year (4-year programme)
- BSc (Hons) Marketing with Placement Year (4-year programme)
Effective for students first enrolling to Part 1 of the programmes listed above from the 2022-23 academic year:
The Part I MANG1016 Realising Success and the Part II MANG2063 Business Placement modules are considered CORE for the purposes of progression. Students failing pass these modules will be permitted to Refer in accordance with the Progression, Determination and Classification of Results for Undergraduate and Integrated Masters Programmes (Section 4: Referral) but will not be permitted to Repeat (Section 5: Repeat). If a pass in these modules is not achieved following Referral, students will be transferred to the relevant Part of the equivalent non-placement programme.

Effective for students first enrolling to Part 1 of the programmes listed above from the 2023-24 academic year:
Students failing to meet the criteria required for successful completion of Part II Year 2 (taught) of their programme of study either at the first attempt or following any Referral permitted in accordance with the Progression, Determination and Classification of Results for Undergraduate and Integrated Masters Programmes (Section 4 (4.1 to 4.3): Referral) will be transferred permanently to the equivalent “non-placement” version of the programme prior to any opportunity to Repeat the Part.
