ACCOUNTING AND ECONOMICS (0279)

YEAR 1 - 8 course units

Semester I
MANG1001, MANG1003, QM (ECON1005 or ECON1007)
an approved Economics course unit (ECON1001 [without A level] or ECON1003 [with A level])

Semester II
MANG1002, ECON1002
QM (ECON1006 or ECON1008)
1 course unit from School of Social Sciences or MANG lists (excluding MANG1007, ECON1009); MANG1006 is especially recommended for this programme.

YEAR 2 - 8 course units

Semester I
MANG2003, ECON2001, ECON2002
1 course unit from ECON2*** list, MANG2001, MANG2015, MANG2016

Semester II
MANG2004, MANG2005
2 course units from ECON2*** list, MANG2002, MANG2007, MANG2013, MANG2017, MANG2021 or MANG2038; MANG2017 is especially recommended for this programme.

Students intending to take ECON3023 (Dissertation) in year 3 may not take MANG2008. Special permission will be required if a student who has taken MANG2008 subsequently decides to do an Economics dissertation in year 3.

Either semester instead of listed additional option:
1 course unit from School of Social Sciences or MANG lists.

A minimum of 6 ECON course units and 6 MANG course units (excluding MANG3025/ECON3023) to be taken over years 2 and 3.

YEAR 3 - 8 course units

Semester I
ECON3007, MANG2001, MANG3003

Semester II
ECON3008

Both Semesters
Dissertation/Project (MANG3025 or ECON3023 - double course unit)
2 course units from MANG or ECON list; MANG3006 is especially recommended for this programme, but students are reminded of the need to take at least 6 ECON units over years 2 and 3.

One course unit from School of Social Sciences or MANG lists may be chosen instead of a listed option.

A minimum of 6 ECON course units and 6 MANG course units (excluding MANG3025/ECON3023) to be taken over years 2 and 3.

Please note that MANG3006 willl replace MANG2001 as a compulsory unit in year 3 from 2007/8.
