The following institution is accredited by the University:

The University of Chichester1

The University of Chichester is accredited by the University of Southampton to offer research degree programmes leading to University of Southampton qualifications under arrangements governed by the Accreditation Handbook and under the aegis of the University of Southampton's External Research Degrees Committee (ERDC) which reports to Senate through the Academic Quality and Standards Committee. Such awards are governed by the Regulations for the degrees of Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy as set out in Section V of the University Calendar.

1NOTE:
In September 2014 the University of Chichester received notification from the Privy Council that its submission in respect of research degree awarding powers had been successful. Although a number of students have taken up the invitation to transfer their candidature to the University of Chichester, there are some postgraduate students who remain registered with the University of Southampton.
