The General Academic Regulations which are in Section IV (General Academic Regulations) of the University Calendar apply to and regulate the programmes listed above.
On occasion, programmes can be exempted from one or more of the clauses in the General Academic Regulations, or one or more of the clauses can be varied.
- Exemptions are characterised by the omission of the relevant clause.
- Variations are characterised by the replacement of the clause with alternative wording.
The programmes listed have approval from the Academic Quality and Standards Committee for the exemptions and/or variations to the regulations noted below.

Programmes which lead to registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) are exempt from clauses 3.1, 3.3 under section 3 and clauses 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 under section 4 of the Progression, Determination and Classification of Results for Undergraduate and Integrated Masters Programmes to meet professional requirements. No restriction is placed on the number of modules on which students may be referred for a second attempt. In exceptional circumstances students may conditionally progress to the next part of the programme before all modules have been passed. To progress, outstanding outcomes must be achieved and ratified by week 12 of the following part. |

To qualify for the award of Master of Science Midwifery, and be eligible for admission to the Midwives part of the NMC register, candidates must have successfully completed all elements of the programme and be of good health and good character and worthy of admission to the NMC register. |

Continuation on your programme is subject to consideration of any criminal convictions. The programme is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act [1986]. All students are required to inform the Faculty of all criminal convictions both prior to and throughout their period of enrolment. All students will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. |

Continuation on your programme is subject to specific health requirements (consistent with the provisions of the Equality Act [2010]). Students are required to inform the Faculty of any health problems, throughout their period of enrolment, relevant to their future employment as a professional. |
