Structure of Programme(s) |
|
The Programme follows the University regulations specified in Section IV of the University Calendar as a year zero of a four-year integrated degree leading to the award of a Bachelors degree (with Honours).
The programmes in the Faculty are divided into modules; candidates are required to take the equivalent of eight modules. Each module is normally worth 7.5 ECTS (15 CATS). See Section IV for further details of the Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS).
A module is a self-contained part of a programme of study. Each module will have its own aims and objectives, syllabus and assessment requirements. Modules will normally be assessed during and/or at the end of the semester in which the student takes the module.
The Faculty may specify programme core modules which candidates for that programme are required to take or complete successfully during the International Foundation Year. Apart from the specified modules (if any) the choice of optional modules shall be subject in all cases to approval by the programme leader |

Progression |
|
The Programme follows the progression rules as set out in the programme specification.
Progression from year zero of the International Foundation Year requires the achievement of a qualifying mark as distinct to the pass mark overall and with achieved marks in core modules. These requirements are defined in the Programme Specification. Candidates who do not achieve the qualifying mark to progress to their chosen programme may refer in a maximum of 45 CATS (22.5 ECTS). The actual marks achieved at referral are inserted into the previous marks profile to determine Progression. However, the Referral marks will be capped at the specified progression mark for the relevant module for all calculations related to progression. |

As a research-led University, we undertake a continuous review of our programmes to ensure quality enhancement and to manage our resources. As a result, these regulations may be revised during a student’s period of registration, however, any revision will be balanced against the requirement that the student should receive the educational service expected. Please read our Disclaimer to see why, when and how changes may be made to a student’s programme.
Students' attendance will be monitored and repeated non-attendance may result in termination of studies. |
