Admissions |

1.1 |
Students must satisfy the Regulations for Admission to Degree Programmes as specified in Section IV of the University Calendar. The normal entry requirement to the BSc Psychology programme is based on 18 units (eg: AAB (excluding General Studies/Critical Thinking) or ABB with grade A in the Extended Project). Alternative qualifications, and those from other countries, are considered on their equivalence and merit.
For admission to the BSc Psychology programme, students:
- must have satisfied the Regulations for Admission to Degree Programmes as specified in the University Calendar, Section IV: General Regulations for Students;
- must have satisified the programme requirements appertaining to the relevant degree as specified in the programme specification.

All individuals are selected and treated on their relative merits and abilities in line with the University's Equal Opportunities Policy. Disabled applicants will be treated according to the same procedure as any other applicant with the added involvement of the Enabling Services Office to assess their needs. |

Structure of Programme(s) |

2.1 |
The mode of attendance is full-time. |
2.2 |
The duration of study leading to the degree of BSc is three academic years. |
2.3 |
This programme of study may include lectures, seminars, tutorials, report writing and practical work. |
2.4 |
A full honours programme consists of 360 credit points, 120 to be taken in each year of study. |
2.5 |
In the first year, students can choose two optional modules. Year 2 of the programme consists only of core modules and in year 3 students can choose six optional modules, of which a minimum of four must be Psychology modules and a maximum of two may be from the CIP or language options. |
2.6 |
Candidates may back track or forward track a level for up to 30 credit points provided the minimum credit requirements at each level are met. |

Placements/Study Abroad/Exchange/Fieldwork |

6.1 |
Students will have the opportunity to participate in the Study Abroad/Erasmus exchange scheme in the first semester of the third and final year of the programme of study. |
6.2 |
Students have the opportunity to participate in the Voluntary Research Assistant Scheme and the Department of Psychology's Summer Work Placement Scheme. |

Other |

7.1 |
Students are required to satisfy the academic and the Attendance and Completion of Programme Requirements as set out in section IV of the University calendar, the programme specification and the programme handbook. Those failing to do so may have their course terminated (see University Calendar Section IV: Transfer, Suspension, Withdrawal and Termination). |
7.2 |
These regulations may be revised during the student's period of registration in accordance with the procedures approved by Senate. |
