    | 4. | Assessment |
    | |

        | Each module will be assessed by one or more assignments based on the learning outcomes. All summative assignments across the programme carry credit towards the final outcomes of each module. A range of assessment methods is used to give you an opportunity to benefit from a rounded educational experience.
For all Modules the pass mark is 40% for level 6 students and 50% for level 7, except for the video simulation competency assessments in modules 2 and 4 for which the pass rate is 50% for all students with a pass/fail awarded only.  The pass mark awarded for all successful resubmissions is capped at 40% or 50%.

Failure to submit an assignment at the first attempt within the allocated time and without prior arrangement with the module lead is considered to be a referral at the first attempt.

Each module will be assessed according to the module profile.

Assessments include written assignments, examinations, and a simulated practice OSCE.

Where modules are assessed by more than one assignment, students must achieve a pass in all elements to pass the module. Students will receive constructive feedback for each assignment from the assignment marker(s).

Students will also be required successfully to achieve and complete practice based clinical competencies within four of the six modules. The competencies, which, when completed, demonstrate ‘fitness to practise’ are outlined in the Clinical Competencies document. Students are required to successfully achieve the competencies indicated in this document to comply with the requirements of the programme.

When attending for an examination you must produce either your university ID card or a form of photographic ID in which you are clearly identifiable. Students without photographic ID will not be permitted entry to the examination.

Work submitted up to 5 days after the deadline will be marked as usual.  The final agreed mark is then reduced by the factors detailed in the relevant University Policy: see https://sharepoint.soton.ac.uk/sites/ese/quality_handbook/Handbook/Assessment%20Framework.aspx.
