Health and Safety Audit and Assurance Committee
Terms of reference
- To assure Council that the University is complying with the statutory and other appropriate health and safety requirements and with its own procedures as set out in the University Health and Safety Policy, and to make recommendations for areas of improvement or for further work as necessary.
- To assure Council that the University has in place appropriate resources and organisational arrangements for effective risk management in relation to health and safety.
- To assure Council that health and safety audit provision is appropriate to keep under review the outcomes and managment of the audit programme.
- To monitor the University's progress against health and safety performance objectives and targets.
- To report its findings to Council.
The Committee will conduct its work by receiving and reviewing reports.

Up to three persons with senior health and safety environment experience gained outside the University. |

One University member not being a head of a budgetary group, appointed ad personam. |

Note: The Director of Occupational Health and Safety will normally be in attendance. The member of UEG with special responsibility for health and safety will normally be invited to attend to discuss specific items with the committee as necessary.
