- The Dean of each Faculty shall be appointed by the Council on the nomination of the Vice-Chancellor following consultation with the Senate, from among the Professors and University Directors of Education of the Faculty. Where such an appointment is not made, an appropriately qualified external candidate may be appointed, following external advertisement and open competition. The Vice-Chancellor shall before making a nomination seek the advice of members of the Faculty.
- The Dean shall hold office for such period and (subject to Section 31) upon such conditions as to reappointment or otherwise as shall from time to time be prescribed by Ordinance.
- The Dean shall be ex officio a member of the Board of each School in the Faculty.
