Graduate Schools Committee

Terms of reference
  1. To provide a forum in which activities that enhance the graduate experience across the University are discussed, planned and developed, and to report thereon to Senate.

  2. To consider developments relating to postgraduate research students (PGR students) and early career researchers (ECRs) at a national level.

  3. To coordinate the provision of courses or activities, and necessary support structures, which help PGR students and ECRs to extend their generic research, teaching and entrepreneurial skills, and to allocate external funds in support of such activities.

  4. To work with the Schools to implement new policy and initiatives relating to PGR students and ECRs.

  5. To analyse and report on the evaluation of the transferable skills programmes across the University.
Note: The Graduate Schools Committee will also report to the Academic Quality and Standards Committee, the Education Committee and Research and Enterprise Committee as appropriate.
