Opting out of Membership of the Students Union

 

     
 
I understand that, under the terms of the Education Act 1994, I may opt out of membership of the Students' Union of the University of Southampton for the session 2007/08. I understand that I shall continue to be able to use the Union's facilities as if I held associate membership but that I shall, for the remainder of this session, have no membership status whatsoever and that I will be unable to participate in certain Students' Union activities. I further understand that, if I am a continuing student, I shall automatically be registered as a member of the Students' Union at the beginning of the 2008/09 session when I may again choose to exercise my right to opt out of membership of the Students' Union.

This form should be returned within four weeks of the student's initial registration or at the start of the student's programme of study to the Head of Student Support in Student Services. It must be accompanied by the student's current ID card.
