Environment Sub-Committee
Terms of reference
- To advise the Estate Policy Committee (EPC) on the formation, development and implementation of an appropriate environment and sustainability policy within the strategic objectives of the University.
- To advise EPC on appropriate environmental management structures and resources, including sources of funding, for implementing the environment and sustainability policy.
- To set targets for improving enviromental performance and report on progress.
- To monitor performance on environmental and sustainability objectives set out in the environment plan via reports from officers responsible for the delivery of environmental programmes.
- To advise EPC on utility use and re-charge policy and recommend projects to reduce utility use.
- To advise other committees on environmental and sustainability issues as required.
- To promote the University's approach to environmental and sustainability issues to staff and students and other key stakeholders.
- To raise awareness of staff and students about their impact on the environment and promote changes in behaviour to reduce this impact.
- To support the implementation of an EMS across the University
