DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR STUDENTS WHO COMMENCED AFTER SEPTEMBER 2004 OR HAVE THE APPROPRIATE PREREQUISITES

MChem Chemistry with Mathematics (4 years)

1. Programme Requirements

A-level: Chemistry, Mathematics and one other subject. For subjects other than Chemistry and Mathematics, two AS-levels will be regarded as equivalent to one A-level in most circumstances.

2. Core and Compulsory Units (core units in bold)

First Year CHEM1001; CHEM1005; CHEM1006; CHEM1013; CHEM1017; MATH1019; MATH1020; MATH1021; MATH1022
Second Year CHEM2001; CHEM2002; CHEM2003; CHEM2005; CHEM2006; CHEM2007; approved Level 2 MATH units worth 30 credit points
Third Year CHEM3001; CHEM3012; approved Level 2 MATH units worth 60 credit points
Fourth Year approved Level 3 MATH units worth 90 credit points

Note: 120 credit points of Chemistry and 150 credit points of Mathematics must be taken over Years 3 and 4.

1. Programme Requirements

A-level: Chemistry and two other subjects including at least one from Biology, Mathematics and Physics. For subjects other than Chemistry, two AS-levels will be regarded as equivalent to one A-level in most circumstances.
