Programmes in Ship Science
Fluid Dynamics and Computation
- Candidates must take a total of twelve modules (eight compulsory, four optional), and complete a dissertation.
- Candidates may be permitted to study part-time over a period of forty-eight months for the MSc or thirty-six months for the Diploma subject to Faculty Board approval of the part-time arrangements.
Maritime Engineering Science
- Students will follow one of six streams, as follows:
Advanced Materials in Maritime Structures;
Marine Engineering;
Maritime CFD and Applied Mechanics;
Naval Architecture;
Ocean Resources Engineering;
Yacht and Small Craft.
- Candidates may be permitted to study part-time over a period of forty-eight months for the MSc or thirty-six months for the Diploma subject to Faculty Board approval of the part-time arrangements.
Marine Technology
- This IGDS MSc is taught jointly by a number of partner institutions.
- Candidates shall study part-time over a period of two to five years.
- All candidates must complete four core modules and a project. Additional optional modules are available.
- Candidates successfully obtaining 60 credits (including the project) may be awarded the Certificate in Marine Technology.
- Candidates successfully obtaining 120 credits (including the project) may be awarded the Diploma in Marine Technology.
- Candidates successfully obtaining 180 credits (including the project) may be awarded the degree of Master of Science.
