Alternative Subjects All students should be encouraged to take up to two Alternative Subjects in their first year. Single Honours students may take up to two Alternative subjects in each year of their programme. Alternative Subjects will not normally be available in Year 2 and the Final Year of Joint Honours/Major/Minor programmes, unless they are in a directly related subject area. In Year 2 and Final Year, students may not normally take an Alternative Subject which they have not taken in preceding years unless they have relevant experience or qualifications.
