Regulations for the Schools of the Faculty:
Economics and Econometrics
- Course requirement: Advanced level pass, or equivalent, in an approved mathematical subject.
- In the first year (Part I) eight subjects will be studied and examined as follows:
- Semester one:
- EC107, an approved Economics unit, and two optional units from an approved Social Sciences list.
- Semester two:
- EC108, EC110, an approved Economics unit, and one optional unit from an approved Social Sciences list.
- Year 2
- EC221, EC222, EC227, EC228, plus four units from the EC list (excluding EC229)
- Year 3
- EC363, EC368, EC369, EC374, either Contemporary Problems in Economics Paper (1 unit) (EC390) or Dissertation/Project (2 units) (EC398/399), and the remaining number of units from the EC list.
- Up to two of the optional units in Years 2 and 3 taken together may be drawn from the approved list of units other than EC units.
- Each unit shall normally be examined at the end of the semester in which it is taken. Second and third year units shall count towards the final examination.
