1. Course requirements
   A-level French or equivalent

2. Unit courses
   Year 1: FR193 or FR194; two sets of ML/FR linked units (4 units in total); 2 further units
   Year 2: FR194 or FR195, 6 FR units (up to 2 FR units may be replaced by ML units)
   Year 3: FR399 (project)
   Year 4: FR196 or FR197, 6 SML units of which at least 4 must be FR

3. Special requirements
   Year 3 will be spent abroad. (Part-time students will normally be expected to spend a total of 3 months in a country where the language is spoken nationally).
